Hi friends, I’m Meg — a Bungendore local of 25 years, a family photographer and a mum who’s right there in the thick of it too. I know that first year can feel like a blur — equal parts magic, chaos, and growth — and it helps so much to know you’re surrounded by a community that gets it.

Bungendore and Braidwood are such beautiful places to raise a family — where you can still wave to your neighbours, pop down the street and see familiar faces, and watch your little ones grow up with country air and kind hearts around them.

This Mum’s First Year guide was created to help you find support, local gems, and gentle encouragement throughout your motherhood journey. I hope it reminds you to slow down, soak it in, and know you’re doing an incredible job — even on the days that don’t feel that way.

    A welcoming community for mums with bubs up to 12 months, to share, learn and connect - available online or in Braidwood

  • Braidwood Kinder & Co

    When I was pregnant with my second child, I realised living in Araluen would be quite isolating, especially without a support network. I then thought I would start one myself in Braidwood, Kinder & Co.

    We welcome all parents/carers and their children aged 0 to 3 and provide a safe and supportive environment, without judgement. Bi-weekly, Mondays and Fridays from 10.30am to 1pm, the Glasshouse on Park Lane, is open to play, engagement, exploration, caring and learning.

    We also provide sporadic educational and interactive workshops thanks to the financial support of QPRC.
